35 CETI Nominations Received From Technology-Driven Pioneers

AUSTIN, TX, February 27, 2007 – In an effort to encourage innovative construction-related technologies that benefit the industry, FIATECH established the Celebration of Engineering & Technology Innovation (CETI Awards) to recognize significant achievements in technology deployment and implementation in the capital projects industry.

FIATECH received 35 nominations, from visionary leaders, leading companies, organizations, and individuals listed below.

This year the CETI Awards is chaired by Mike Alianza, Senior Analyst, Emerging Trends and Technologies, Intel Corporation. Jurors are James H. Garrett, Jr., Ph.D., Professor and Head, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University; Tapio Koivu, Ph.D., Executive Vice President, Ventures, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland; Francis Rabuck, Director, Real Time Asset Lab, Bentley Systems; Tom Sawyer, Information Technology Editor, Engineering News-Record; Ben Schwegler, Ph.D., Vice President & Chief Scientist, Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development; and Dana K. Smith, RA, President, DKS Information Consulting.

"The CETI Awards provide an excellent opportunity for recognition of individuals and organizations who historically have not had that in the capital facilities world. There are hundreds of brilliant 'stars' out there each year that have the potential to brighten the outlook and vision of the capital projects world and now FIATECH and the CETI Awards facilitate that happening" explains Mike Alianza who is chairing the 2006 CETI Award program.      

Jurors will be reviewing the nominations and the winners will be announced on the evening of April 10th, 2007, in Washington, DC.

The inaugural CETI Awards will be given in conjunction with FIATECH’S Annual Technology Conference and Showcase, Where the Best Get Better.
