Students

To help develop future leaders in the capital facilities industry, Fiatech invites students to participate. For a nominal fee ($40 per year), students can become engaged with industry leaders, learn how collaborative efforts within the industry come to fruition, and gain much-needed exposure to the workings of major stakeholders in business and industry.

Benefits

Engineering students – graduate, doctoral, and first-year post-graduates – may join Fiatech for one year for a fee of $40. Fiatech believes that opportunities can be created through aligning, engaging, and leveraging academic research with private industry needs. By joining Fiatech, students will receive the following benefits:

Research

Fiatech students will have unlimited access to Fiatech project deliverables, reports, survey results, and studies. A requisite is that each student must explain how the information will assist in their own research. In addition, each student must agree to supply Fiatech with a copy of their final research report.

Annual Member Meeting and Annual Technology Conference and Showcase

Fiatech students will receive an invitation to the Annual Member Meeting and the Annual Technology Conference and Showcase at a significantly reduced student price. Students attending these events will be supplementing their academic education with real-world applications presented by leaders in the construction and technology industries.

Student Scholarships

Fiatech students will have an opportunity to receive a scholarship (these will be limited in number each year). The scholarships come from Fiatech companies and cover travel and lodging. In most cases, these are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

Promotion

Fiatech students will have the opportunity to showcase their research results, provided they are of interest and relevance to Fiatech members. The presentations may be either through speaking or exhibiting (poster session) at one or both of Fiatech \'s annual events.

Participation

Fiatech students may participation on any Fiatech project team.

Networking

Fiatech students will have networking opportunities and the possibility for close interaction with industry leaders and premier companies.
