Austin, TX, September 8, 2015 -- Fiatech has announced that Jim Purvis, Digital Enterprise Director at WorleyParsons, has been elected to the position of chairman at Fiatech.
His term begins September 21, 2015 when Frank Matthewson, CET Engineering Manager at Bechtel, steps down. Purvis will lead Fiatech and its Board of Advisors in all aspects of the organization including strategic direction, operating policies, industry participation, and engagements.
Purvis is a mechanical engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the international capital facilities industry. His varied technical positions and sectors served over this time gives him a broad foundation to provide input to clients and senior management. As well as completing EPC projects from inception to start-up; he is a trained risk and value engineering facilitator and experienced in strategic planning and execution. His previous role as Engineering Systems Group Director helped him develop a strong understanding of the requirements for project information management and supporting processes and tools. He now takes this information management knowledge and applies it to the asset data management area. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University.
