Derek Middlemas, chief operations officer for Aveva, is responsible for leading and directing the company's business development, sales, customer service, marketing, and industry solutions functions. He has 25 years experience in the design and construction of capital projects. Prior to joining Aveva, he worked for several EPC firms, including Foster Wheeler and Bechtel, where he managed the engineering and IT departments and was responsible for the use of innovative engineering software on projects. Middlemas holds a degree in naval architecture and a master's in project management.
